Emmaus Worldwide Announces Leadership Transition

-Mark Presson-

On November 28, 2023, Steve Modrzejewski resigned as Executive Director.  The board appreciates his accomplishments and passion for the ministry and wishes him God’s best as he pursues new opportunities.

The board has appointed Mark Presson as the interim director, pending a search for a new permanent Executive Director.

Mark Presson was born and raised in Japan by his missionary parents, Pat and Betty Presson (1952 -1989).  One of their ministries was as the regional director for Emmaus Correspondence Course work (Japan).  As a child Mark accepted Christ as his Savior and benefitted from the ministry by completing the correspondence courses written for children.

Called to be a healthcare administrator, Mark completed his studies in business, healthcare administration and law.  Desiring to have a biblical basis for his business practice, he completed the three-year diploma program at Emmaus Bible School in 1978.

Job interviews led to a commission in the United States Air Force, where he served for 26 years in a variety of healthcare leadership positions, culminating as the director of medical support operations for the Air Force Medical Service.  After retiring, Mark served at Emmaus Bible College as the VP for Finance and Administration for 11 years.  Since retiring a second time, he and his wife Sandy have dedicated their time to their local assembly (eldership) and in the advancement of Christian ministries.

Mark has served on the Emmaus Worldwide board since 2021.  He loves the ministry and looks forward to furthering its growth and progress by preparing the way for a new permanent Executive Director.

At this time of change, please pray for Steve as he pursues new opportunities.  Also pray for Mark and the Emmaus Worldwide staff as they continue to seek to glorify God by providing biblically sound resources and structured study materials that teach people from every nation to accept Christ as their Savior and Lord, grow in Christ, and share their faith with others.
