God's Word is Truth

Can you trust the Bible? There are many voices raised against it. It's reliability, accuracy, authority, and inspiration have all been called into question. This course is designed to help you understand that the Bible is trustworthy in all matters of faith and life; to know that God's Word is Truth!

The fact of the divine inspiration of the Word of God is the basis of all teaching from its holy pages. As a result, this has been attacked severely in the past 200 years by rationalism, modernism, and other forms of skepticism. Today the assault continues undiminished and is found in places and circles long noted for their adherence to the verbal inspiration of the inerrant word of God. In this course, several lines of evidence are provided to support the inspiration and reliability of the Bible.

Ready to Give an Answer

We usually think of evidence as information presented in a court of law to convince a judge or jury that a case is true and believable. Christian evidence is very similar—it's evidence which Christians can present in order to convince others that God, the Bible and Christianity are true, and that our faith is reasonable, logical and credible.

As you study this course, your personal faith will be strengthened, and you will learn to be "ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15).

Managing Anger God's Way

Anger is a God-given emotion, not a behavior. It is neither good or bad, though it excites good or bad behavior depending on our inner spiritual condition.

In this study course, we will learn from Scripture about God’s holy anger. Then we’ll begin the difficult task of aligning our selfish anger and unrighteous behavior with God’s righteousness. This task requires each of us to honestly evaluate our anger tendencies, to remove internal conditions that induce angry feelings, and to learn techniques to manage our anger in a God-honoring way.

If you mismanage anger, this course will guide you into better self-control.

God's Mandate for Missions

When God created the world He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and told them to multiply and fill the earth with people. Adam and Eve enjoyed a wonderful relationship with God until sin broke that relationship. Ever since then God has been reaching out to man in His grace. The Bible is the story of how He has been doing that. At the present time God is using His people to "make disciples of all nations."That’s missions! It is the most wonderful enterprise in the world.

In this study you will discover many aspects of world missions, beginning with its biblical foundation. You will learn what kind of people God uses and how He calls them to become involved; the Biblical strategy of missions and the special role of the church in fulfilling His plan. Methods, logistics, and the challenge of reaching people who are living in different cultural settings will be discussed. Then there will be a survey of the broad sweep of history as to how the gospel has spread since the time of Jesus. This will lead to a review of the contemporary world and the work that God is doing today.

Preach the Word

Preaching is both an art and a science. The good preacher has not only mastered the rules of hermeneutics and homiletics but has imagination, flair, and personality enough to make his sermons live.

This course will help you with the techniques of opening up a passage of Scripture. You will learn the basic principles of Bible interpretation. You will study ways of gathering message material, putting it together in a logical way, and presenting it well.

This course is designed primarily for those who feel called to preach. However, it can profitably be studied by all who have a desire to open up the Bible for the benefit of others. Most of the material in this course applies just as much to the teacher as to the preacher.
