About our Mission

In the gospel of Luke, the resurrected Lord Jesus appeared to two men as they were walking on the road to the town of Emmaus, but they didn’t know it was Him (their eyes were restrained). They talked with Him as they walked about who this Jesus was and the recent events surrounding His crucifixion and resurrection. They didn’t know who they were talking with until He broke bread with them in the village of Emmaus. Then their eyes were opened, and the Lord vanished from their sight! Luke 24:32 tells us, “And then they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

And that is ultimately what Emmaus Worldwide exists to do - to open the Scriptures to people worldwide. Our mission is to Glorify God by providing biblically sound resources and structured study materials that teach people from every nation to accept Christ as their Savior and Lord, grow in Christ, and share their faith with others. In short, we exist to encourage people to Know Jesus, Grow to become like Him, and Go and tell others about Him. Know, Grow, Go.

Our mission is to Glorify God by providing biblically sound resources and structured study materials that teach people from every nation to accept Christ as their Savior and Lord, grow in Christ, and share their faith with others.

Vision

The primary means we use to help people get to know Christ, grow in Him, and tell others about Him is by producing, publishing, and distributing Bible studies. We currently have 97 studies in the English language, many of which have been translated into various languages for use all over the world.

These studies are self-paced and most have 12 lessons. At the end of each lesson are ten multiple-choice questions. The student can answer an open-ended “What do you say?” question at the end of each lesson. “What do you say?” provides the opportunity to correspond with a mentor, if desired. This correspondence has been the “secret sauce” of Emmaus Worldwide for our entire history. We have seen many wonderful interactions over the years, ranging from people asking questions about points of doctrine to full confessions of faith in the Lord Jesus.

Emmaus studies work great for personal devotional times and group studies. They are also an excellent tool for leading Bible studies for outreach purposes in your community or with friends and family (see link to ministry resources). Our studies can be accessed both in print and online through the Emmaus Bible Courses App.
